Getting started

Your account

In the account settings you manage what concerns only you: your name, the interface language, the appearance and your account itself. Every member has this page, admins and members alike.

Name and email address

You can change your name at any time under Profile. It appears wherever your team sees you, for example in the member list and on shared chats.

Your email address is your sign-in identity. It cannot be changed in the account settings. Custodos shows it below the name as Signed in as.

Interface language

Custodos is available in German, French, Italian and English. You choose the language under Language in the account settings or directly in the menu under your name.

Your choice is stored in your account and therefore applies on every device you sign in from. Until you choose a language, Custodos follows the language of your browser.

How your data is handled in the workspace

The section How your data is handled here shows what the admins have set for the current workspace: the processing region, the protection level for personal data and whether chats are deleted automatically after a period. These values are the same for all members. Only admins can change them, under Models and Settings.

Your chats are private unless you share them. Admins see usage and cost, never the content of your messages. More under What admins see.

Switching workspace

Under Workspaces you find every workspace your account belongs to, each with your role Admin or Member. The open one is marked current. Clicking another name opens that workspace.

Chats, brains and settings always belong to one workspace. What you create in one workspace is not visible in another.

Danger zone

The actions in the Danger zone cannot be undone. Except for Sign out everywhere, each one asks for confirmation first.

ActionWhat happens
Sign out everywhereEvery session on every device ends, including the current one.
Delete chatsAll chats you own in the current workspace are permanently deleted with their messages and attachments. Colleagues' chats are untouched.
Close accountCustodos deletes your chats in all workspaces, removes you from every workspace, erases your name and email address and signs you out on every device. Signing in later with the same address creates a new, empty account. To confirm, you type your email address. Invoices and usage records that must be kept by law remain, without anything identifying you.
Delete workspaceDeletes the current workspace with all its chats, documents and settings. The action only appears for admins, while you are the sole member and nothing has ever been billed for the workspace, for example a trial workspace.
