Managing models

Open the page from the sidebar under Workspace with Models. It has three parts, in this order: Processing region, Defaults and the list of Chat models. If image models exist, an Image generation section follows.

Members see the result in the chat's model picker: only the models you have allowed that lie inside the region. Every change applies at once and is recorded in the activity log.

The region is the outer boundary: models outside it disappear everywhere, including as a fallback. There are four cards to choose from.

• Switzerland: Swiss inference only.
• European Union: EU inference only.
• EU + Switzerland: both regions. Preset in new workspaces and marked as recommended in the app.
• Global: No residency guarantee. This region only applies when an admin chooses it explicitly.

Models outside the new region then appear in a separate area Outside …, carry the note Out of region and cannot be switched on. Custodos also clears every setting that no longer holds in the new region.

• A default model for new chats or for images that lies outside the region is removed.
• If the security-mode model lies outside, it is removed and security mode is no longer offered until you choose a new model. See Security mode.

Under Chat models, each model is a card with a switch: allowed or blocked. Only allowed models appear in the model picker. The card shows where the model runs and estimates the credits per exchange. With All, CH, DE, EU and Global you filter the list by the country it runs in. The filter does not change what is allowed.

Models marked not configured or Awaiting deployment cannot answer requests yet.

Three buttons above the list reset the chat-model selection in one go: Allow all EU/CH models, EU only and Switzerland only. A preset replaces the current chat-model selection. Image models are left as they are. The switches in the list then show which models a preset has selected.

A preset never reaches beyond the processing region, and no preset includes models without a residency commitment from the Global group. You allow those individually. If the default model for new chats or the security-mode model drops out of the new selection, Custodos removes that setting, as it does when you block a model. After applying a preset, adjust individual models with their switch as usual.

The Defaults card decides what your team gets without choosing. Members can still switch to any allowed model per chat. Only models that are allowed and inside the region can be chosen.

In the Image generation section you allow or block image models, just like chat models. Image models do not appear in the model picker; they power the image button in the message field. If no image model is allowed, the button is unavailable for everyone. How your team generates images is described under Generating images.
