Sharing chats

   Open sharing

   Click Share at the top of the open chat.

   Choose the level

   Choose Only me, Selected people or Everyone in the workspace.

   Add people

   For Selected people, search by name or e-mail address under Add people. A chat can be shared with up to 200 people.

   Save

   Click Save. Once the chat is shared, the dialog offers Copy link. The link only works for people with access.

While a chat is shared, the Shared button replaces Share at the top of the chat. It reopens the sharing settings, for example to change the people. To stop sharing, choose Only me and save.

Only the person who started the chat can share it. An empty chat cannot be shared.

Chats others have shared with you are listed in the sidebar under Shared with me. The list shows up to 30 chats, most recently edited first.

• The whole transcript, including messages you write after sharing. Sharing is live, not a snapshot.
• Read access only, marked Read only. Only you can write, rename, move or delete.
• Attached files by name only. The file itself and its text stay with you.
• Generated files and images, which they can download.

You cannot write in a shared chat. Copy and continue creates a private copy of your own to carry on working in. The original stays unchanged.

• The copy holds the transcript and generated files, not the attached documents. Documents from the document editor come across in their latest version.
• It keeps brains only as far as you may use them yourself.
• It keeps an agent only if that agent is visible to you.
• If the original ran in security mode, so does the copy.

Under Settings, in the Sharing section, the Allow sharing chats switch decides whether members may share chats. Sharing is allowed in new workspaces. When it is off, the Share button is missing from chats.

Every share and every copy taken is recorded in the activity log as Chat shared and Shared chat copied. For a share, the log records the level and the number of people. The chat's title and content never appear in it.
