Creating files
On request, Custodos creates finished files to download: Word, PDF, Excel and PowerPoint. This page shows how to ask for a file, what each format can hold and which limits apply.

Asking for a file
- 1
Describe the file
Write in the chat which file you need and what should go into it, for example “Create an Excel sheet with the dates from the attached PDF”. In an empty chat, the suggestions Presentation, Spreadsheet and Document help: they put the start of a sentence into the message field for you to finish. - 2
Check the file request
After one of these suggestions, the message field also shows PowerPoint file, Excel file or Word file. This tells the model you expect a file. The X next to it, Answer without a file, gets you the answer as text in the chat instead. - 3
Send and wait
While the model works, the chat shows a note such as Creating spreadsheet…, Creating document… or Creating presentation…. - 4
Download
The finished file appears as a card under the reply, with its file name and size. Clicking the card downloads it.
Which files you can get
For text you want to keep working on yourself, the document editor beside the chat is often the better choice. You can download Word or PDF from there later too.
| Format | Suited to | What it can hold |
|---|---|---|
| Word (.docx) | Letters, reports, offers, minutes and drafts you will keep editing | Headings, paragraphs, bullet and numbered lists, tables, quotes, bold and italic text, links and code |
| Finished documents to send or print | the same as Word | |
| Excel (.xlsx) | Lists, calculations, budgets, evaluations and exports | several sheets with values and working formulas |
| PowerPoint (.pptx) | Presentations and decision papers | up to 40 slides in 16:9, plus an automatically generated title slide |
Excel workbooks with formulas
Custodos writes formulas as real Excel formulas, not as fixed numbers. Every formula is checked before handover: for missing sheets, formulas that refer to their own cell, unknown functions and unbalanced brackets. Whether a formula gives the right result is not something this check can see. An independent program then opens the finished file once more as a check.
If you attach a spreadsheet, the model copies its rows straight into the new file instead of retyping them. This keeps even large data sets complete. It can write evaluations as formulas such as SUMIFS or COUNTIFS on the copied data, so every figure can be traced.
On request, the model builds the workbook like a financial model: with a sheet describing purpose and assumptions, colour-coded input cells and check rows.
Presentations
A new presentation automatically gets a title slide. For every further slide, the model picks a suitable layout. You can ask for a particular one.
- Bullets and two columns for arguments and comparisons
- Key figures for two to four headline numbers
- Table with up to 6 columns and 10 rows
- Chart as a bar, line or pie chart
- Timeline, quote and section divider
Changing a file you created
Files the model created in the chat stay editable in later messages. Just write what should change, such as “Also change the date in the offer to 1 October”. The model then works on the latest version and delivers a new file.
If you opened a Company Brain document with Edit in chat, Save to brain appears next to the new file. It makes the file the next version of the document in the Brain. More under Managing documents.
