Agent templates
Custodos comes with ten templates for typical office tasks. A template is a filled-in draft that you adapt and then save as your own agent.

Using a template
The template itself does not change. Every agent you create from it is independent and belongs to you. The texts appear in the language you use Custodos in.
- 1
Open the templates
Click Agents in the sidebar and choose the Templates tab. If you have no agents yet, Choose a template takes you there as well. - 2
Pick a template
Click Use template on the one that fits. The editor opens with the template's name, description, instructions, conversation starters and icon. - 3
Adapt and test
Change the fields under Configure and try the draft out in the Preview. - 4
Save it as your own agent
Click Create. Only then is the agent created. Until that point the template is just a draft.
The ten templates
The names are shown as Custodos displays them. Three templates have web search switched on, because they need current public information. It stays off for the others, so answers come from your own material.
| Template | What for | Web search |
|---|---|---|
| Correspondence Assistant | Writing business emails and letters and polishing your own drafts. | off |
| Customer Service Replies | Answering customer enquiries and complaints based on your FAQs, product information and policies. | off |

| Quotes & Proposals Assistant | Turning a customer enquiry, your services and your prices into a quote with a cover letter. | off |
| Marketing & LinkedIn | LinkedIn posts, newsletters, website and product copy, with research on current topics on request. | on |
| Contract & Document Review | Summarising contracts, terms and long documents, flagging clauses, deadlines and costs. | off |

How the template instructions are built
All ten templates follow the same ground rules. If you write your own agents, you can use them as a pattern.
- The agent replies in the language you write in and writes the result in the language its recipient needs.
- It asks only a few questions before starting, or states its assumptions if you tell it to just write.
- It is told not to invent figures, prices, dates, deadlines, laws or names. Where something is missing, it inserts a visible placeholder in square brackets and a short list of open points.
- It assumes no country. Where rules differ from country to country, it asks.
- It gives general information, not legal or tax advice, and says when a professional should be involved.
Adapting a template to your company
Templates contain no brains and no files, because they do not know your material. Only with those does the agent work with your documents. Customer Service Replies, for example, needs your FAQs and policies as a brain, and the Quotes & Proposals Assistant needs your price list.
- Under Brains you attach the knowledge the agent should search. How to fill a brain is described under Adding sources.
- Under Files you add templates, such as your letterhead as a Word file. This only works once the agent has been saved.
- In the Instructions you add what applies to your company: tone of voice, fixed wording, contact people.
- Under Sharing you decide who may use the agent. New agents start out private.
