Generating images
Custodos can create an image from a text description, right in the chat. This page shows how to start image mode, what happens to your description and when the feature is not available.

Creating an image

Open the menu
Click the plus icon Add in the message field. - 2
Switch on image mode
Choose Create image. If the message field is empty, Custodos switches image mode on: a chip with the same label appears in the message field, and a line below it states which model will create the next image. If a description is already in the message field, the image is created from it straight away and image mode stays off. - 3
Describe the image
Describe the image you want in a message and send it. The description can be up to 4,000 characters long. Each message produces one image. - 4
Leave image mode
Image mode stays on after the image, so you can create more straight away. The cross on the chip, Leave image mode, takes you back to the normal chat.
Working with the finished image
The image appears as a reply in the chat. Enlarge image shows it at full size, Download image saves it to your device. It stays part of the chat and is also visible in a shared chat.
Images have no regenerate icon. For a new version, send a changed description in image mode.
What the image model receives
The image model receives only the text of the one message you send in image mode. It does not see the rest of the chat, attached files or attached images. Describe everything the image should contain in that message.
The description goes through the same personal data check as every chat message. Whatever your workspace blocks is not sent. Whatever it pseudonymises reaches the image model only as a placeholder. Details are under Personal data.
When the feature is unavailable
Create image is always listed in the menu. When an image cannot be created right now, the entry is greyed out and states the reason.

For admins: setting or blocking the image model
Admins control image generation under Models in the sidebar, in the Image generation section. There you choose the default model for images. As long as no default model is chosen, the selection shows First allowed. Custodos then uses the first allowed image model available in your region.
An image model whose switch is set to blocked is unavailable to everyone in the workspace. If all image models are blocked, Create image is greyed out for everyone. The page also shows roughly how many credits an image costs.
